Maisie Day raises funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice

£146.50 was raised in October 2019 at our event we called Maisie Day. This was a fun-filled activity day to launch Maisies Badge, the badge we created in memory of Maisie. The District met together with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers each doing different activities to gain Maisies Badge. Sweets and baked goods were sold at the end of the day to raise more money for the Acorns Children’s Hospice. Well done everyone and thank you to all girls and parents for your amazing support.

Thank you to all our parents and girls for the very generous donations made towards our prizes for our treasure map stall at the Nailsworth Noel, tonight. As a result, we have 5 amazing hampers/baskets to be won.

Please come along to support us and say hello, and you never know – if you can locate where the treasure is buried on our map you can win one of our lovely hampers.

Thank you again to all involved.

Thieves and Thanks

We were very sad to discover that hundreds of pounds worth of our tents and camping equipment have been stolen by some petty, thoughtless thieves, putting our plans to take Nailsworth and Woodchester Guides camping, in the summer, in jeopardy.

We have, however, also been overwhelmed by the generosity of the people of Nailsworth and local businesses, who upon hearing our news have been donating money, tents and equipment to replace the stolen items.  A justgiving page has also been set up, for those still wishing to help out.

We would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who has helped out and supported us.

CONGRATULATIONS

Most Units from Girlguiding Nailsworth Valley District spent Saturday afternoon being entertained by The Stanley Players (www.facebook.com/stanleyplayers), in Kings Stanley.  The production of Aladdin, starring one of our Leaders, was enjoyed by Rainbows, Brownies and Guides, not just from Nailsworth and Woodchester but also from Stroud and by the local Beavers and Cubs.  Thank you Stanley Players for a good afternoon.

Nailsworth Brown Owl

August 17, 2014 at 1:44 pm | Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a comment

The end of the summer term saw Trissa, a Leader from 1st Nailsworth Brownies, retire from her role of Brown Owl, after many years service.  Fortunately she is taking on the role of Wise Owl for Nailsworth Valley District.

Her last meeting, as Leader-In-Charge of Nailsworth Brownies, took place on Rodborough Common.  After an ice-cream from Winstones the Brownies played games by the Baden-Powell trees.  The rain just about held off as Brown Owl was presented with gifts from Nailsworth Brownies and from Nailsworth Valley District.

Thank you for everything you’ve done for 1st Nailsworth Brownies, Brown Owl – enjoy your new role!
